Summary

Your wizard brother has been kidnapped by necromancers, just as you were visiting your father's grave! Use your wands to the fullest by overloading them and rescue your brother!

In this game, you navigate a graveyard wielding your magical wands. Your wands can repeatedly fire spells, but can also be overloaded for powerful effects. But be warned, overloading your wand breaks it, and you'll have to flee until you find another!

Godot Wild Jam #65

This game was developed as a submission to the Godot Wild Jam #65.

Wildcards

The game has two endings to meet the "The Good Ending" wildcard. One is obtained defeating the necromancers and saving your brother, the other by leaving the grave to the west at the start of the game.

The game does not meet the "Choose Your Fighter" wildcard. I had planned to allow you to choose which brother you wanted to play as, but time got away from me.

The game may or may not meet the "Unspoken Stories" wildcard. It's a pretty vague card, but I tried to incorporate it by avoiding written dialogue and using the gravestone at the beginning to imply that you were visiting your father's grave, and the identical sprite at the end to imply that you were rescuing a relative.

All art assets were drawn by me in GIMP.

All sound assets were made by me on https://www.beepbox.co and edited with Audacity.

Developer Comments

This was my first game jam and I really feel like I overestimated what I could do in an engine I wasn't experienced in. But hey, overloading my scope seems on-theme.

I think the most important lesson I learned was to spend more time on planning, since I ended up cramming most of the actual gameplay in at the very end.
